TASKWARDEN

Privacy Policy

TaskWarden is designed to keep your reminder and enforcement data on your device. This policy explains what the app stores, what permissions it uses, and when information may be processed by Apple services.

Effective date: May 29, 2026

1. Summary

TaskWarden does not require you to create an account. We do not run a cloud backend for your reminder content. We use PostHog for limited product analytics and crash diagnostics so we can understand broad feature usage, improve reliability, and fix production issues. We do not use advertising SDKs, we do not sell personal information, and we do not use analytics data for cross-app or cross-site tracking.

2. Information TaskWarden Stores

Depending on the features you use, TaskWarden may store the following information on your device:

  • Reminder data such as titles, due dates, recurrence settings, reminder status, snooze state, and completion history.
  • Template and timer configuration data that you create in the app.
  • Optional photo proof images if you choose a reminder that requires photo proof for completion.
  • App blocking selections you choose through Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls interfaces.
  • Preference and configuration data such as theme, snooze durations, grace period, onboarding state, and other local app settings.
  • Minimal reminder metadata shared with the widget and app extensions through Apple app group storage so widgets, notifications, and enforcement extensions can function.
  • Trial, paywall, or subscription-access state stored locally by the app. If subscriptions are offered, Apple handles billing through your Apple Account.

3. Permissions We Request

  • Notifications. Used to deliver reminder alerts, overdue alerts, repeat alerts, and related reminder actions.
  • Screen Time / Family Controls. Used to apply app blocking that you configure for overdue reminders or focus sessions.
  • Motion & Fitness. Used to detect motion state such as driving so the app can pause enforcement for safety.
  • Camera. Used only when you choose to complete a reminder with optional photo proof.
  • Live Activities and Widgets. Used to show reminder and timer status on supported Apple surfaces.

If you deny a permission, the related feature may not work or may work in a limited way.

4. How We Use Information

TaskWarden uses local data to:

  • Create, edit, display, repeat, snooze, and complete reminders and timers.
  • Schedule local notifications and reminder actions.
  • Apply or remove app blocking through Apple’s Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks.
  • Show widget, Live Activity, and lock screen status for reminders and timers.
  • Store optional photo proof for reminders that you configure to require it.
  • Respect your local settings and app configuration choices.

5. Analytics and Crash Diagnostics

TaskWarden uses PostHog to collect limited product analytics and crash diagnostics. This helps us understand whether core features are working, where users drop off during onboarding, which features are used, and whether the app is crashing in production.

Analytics and diagnostic data may include:

  • Anonymous app or session identifiers used to count usage without requiring an account.
  • App version, build version, operating system version, device type or device class, screen size, language, and coarse locale region.
  • Categorical product events such as app opens, onboarding progress, permission outcomes, reminder creation or completion, focus timer usage, paywall views, purchase flow outcomes, and restore purchase outcomes.
  • Crash reports, exception information, stack traces, and related technical diagnostic context.

TaskWarden does not send reminder titles, reminder notes, photo proof images, selected blocked app names, contacts, precise GPS location, or raw session replay data to PostHog. IP-based location enrichment is disabled, and we do not collect precise latitude or longitude for analytics.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your reminder content with third-party advertising providers. We use PostHog as a service provider for limited product analytics and crash diagnostics, as described above.

However, some information may be processed by Apple in order for iOS features to work, including:

  • Apple notification infrastructure for local notification delivery and action handling.
  • Apple Screen Time / Family Controls frameworks for app-blocking selections and enforcement.
  • Apple widget and Live Activity surfaces for displaying reminder state.
  • Apple’s in-app purchase and subscription systems, if and when subscriptions are offered.

7. Purchases and Subscriptions

If TaskWarden offers paid subscriptions, billing is processed by Apple, not by TaskWarden. We do not receive your full payment card number or other full payment credentials. We may receive subscription status or entitlement information from Apple so the app can determine whether premium access is active.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Reminder data and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app from your device. Optional photo proof remains stored locally with the reminder data until the reminder or associated local data is deleted.

Analytics and crash diagnostic data processed by PostHog may be retained for product analytics, reliability monitoring, debugging, and abuse prevention. You may contact us at support@pinecloudlabs.com to request deletion of analytics data associated with your device where reasonably possible.

Some information may also remain in Apple-managed device backups according to your iCloud or device backup settings.

9. Children’s Privacy

TaskWarden is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a hosted user account system.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page and, where appropriate, update the in-app link or App Store listing.
